Delta chief operations officer departing for another company after just over a year on the job

Delta announced that its COO, Mike Spanos, will be leaving the company at the end of the month to pursue another job. Spanos joined Delta in May 2023 as the operations chief after working in leadership positions at Six Flags and Pepsi. This news comes after Delta experienced significant disruptions due to a CrowdStrike outage. However, it is worth noting that Spanos had expressed his interest in exploring opportunities outside of the airline earlier in the summer, according to CEO Ed Bastian.
